Suzuki RM-Z250 2018: What Are New Updates?

If you are expecting a lot from Suzuki RM-Z250 2018, then you may be disappointed because the bike only underwent some cosmetic updates. The updates themselves aren’t bad, actually, because they complete the whole look with the matching appearance. However, again, if you are expecting fancy and grandeur changes, be ready to weep because you won’t find much from the 2018 model.

The Updates

So, what can you expect from the new Suzuki RM-Z250 2018, anyway? For a starter, the bike comes with the yellowish hue but there are accents on the radiator shrouds and the seat with the blue color. And to complete everything, the number plates are white so you can really expect a matching look for this bike.

It seems that the manufacturer still believes that this model still packs enough power and punch so they only focus on the exterior appearance only. After all, they claim that the ride still has the impressive qualities from the previous years, so you don’t have to worry about power or whatsoever. If you expect a bike with matching stylish design and the punchy performance, you are on the right track.

As some people are aware of, the engine of Suzuki RM-Z250 2018 is smooth and mellow. It is perfect for beginner bikers or novice level users. You won’t get any unwanted surprises when driving this bike. The engine shines on the midrange and bottom end, enabling smooth and easy acceleration without fuss. The midrange itself is pretty impressive with its quality punch.

The only little downside is the over rev and top end aren’t really powerful because it will slightly go down. But it isn’t much of a disappointment for the punchy performance and impressive strength. After all, when you are still in the novice level, you want something tame and easily controlled, right? Not something wild and unpredictable. But if you want to ride the bike smoothly, you should short shift it to gain effective outcome.

The Suzuki RM-Z250 2018 engine itself has a significant and visible engine braking with slow revving ability. You can feel the engine braking feature when it is off the throttle. It is especially more apparent during descending the steep and massive hills. The engine itself is pretty unique in the combination of riding easiness and yet challenging work. If you still want to gain the best benefits from the power, you need to work a little bit of extra for control and shifting.

This bike has several different adjustment forms suspension – both on the front and back. There are combinations of compression, air pressure, and also low (as well as high) speed rebound clickers on the fork that will do impressive work and performance for comfort. The fork itself is quite stiff because it is designed for better performance, especially during race events or harsh (and bumpy) condition. The stiff fork and the softer compression clicks are just the perfect combination because they work hand in hand to deliver a more satisfying outcome. The shock absorbent itself is pretty responsive for corner and feel somewhat plush. It works well for more aggressive and heavier riders.

Specialty Feature

You need to remember that different bike is designed for different use and purpose. For this Z250, it is designed for cornering. When compared to other brands, this one has an intuitive response – very well built for turns and corners. In fact, if you have to deal with a lot of corners, this would be the perfect bike to use because of this special feature.  A lot of bikers state that they no longer feel hesitant of doubtful when using the bike because of the confidence and easiness in control.

Sure, it is somewhat heavier when you first use it, especially when you first take off. But once it starts rolling, it gets lighter and easier. The heavy feeling will likely go away as you ride it along. Some people may complain about the rigid chassis – despite whatever suspension change – but you should keep in mind that the rigidity is what makes the bike tackle the corners nicely and easily. Then again, don’t forget that you stabilize yourself to enjoy the cornering grip.

Ergonomics is one part that makes this bike shine. If you are able to sit on the cockpit, you will see that it is pretty comfortable and accommodating. There are a lot of nice combinations in the making. The thin feel of the bike blends well with the stiff clutch for better engagement. The bend Renthal Fatbar is neutral, ideal for riders in average size.  With the new seat and the matching hue, you can definitely expect more from the ride.

In the end, this bike is still promising despite the fact that it offers no changes on the mechanical element. Sure, the new Suzuki RM-Z250 2018 has no different performance than the previous one but with such quality, what can you complain about?
